About this Site

Before you dive into this site, I would like to provide some context regarding what prompted this work and how it was crafted.

As an EMT, medical assistant and senior at the University of Michigan studying Biology, Health and Society, I have always had a passion for medicine. This introduction into science fueled my interest in women’s health, especially after personal experiences with polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). From there, I studied quantitative and qualitative research over the years, which served as the foundation for this page.

I also had the opportunity to interview Dr. Suman Tewari, a holistic gynecologist in Ann Arbor (If you are interested in learning more about me or Dr. Tewari, feel free to click on our biography page). Given my experience, this guide to polycystic ovarian syndrome was synthesized using scientific literature, Dr. Suman Tewari and personal accounts. While there are many approaches to PCOS, this website offers a unique blend of science, social considerations and holistic perspectives.

As an aside, I would like to acknowledge the use of the word "woman" in this website. This is meant to be inclusive, allowing this word to represent whatever it means to you. This may not be the same for everyone, but I think that is what makes it beautiful.

Before you explore this site, please note that I chose to highlight the aspects of PCOS healing that resonated with me, but I acknowledge that not every person has the same experience and there are many other considerations that move beyond this website. With that being said, I hope my approach provides some support and guidance as you continue your unique PCOS journey.
