I am a senior at the University of Michigan working as a medical assistant and EMT while studying Biology, Health and Society on a pre-PA track. Despite my scientific goals, I spent much of my life with music, theater and film until I decided to pursue medicine in college. However, this creative side eventually turned into a minor in writing which is how this page came about.
For my capstone project I wanted to create something personal, but applicable to other women. After my personal journey with PCOS, I realized the beauty of holistic medicine as it helped me heal my body. However, as I researched the topic further, I realized that many women felt my same frustration regarding their condition as they went through their journey. So, my PCOS guide was born. My hope is that this website will help at least one woman understand her condition and realize she has the power to heal, despite what others may say. I truly hope this is just the beginning of my mission as I help women and learn from mentors who have done the same before me.

Dr. Suman Tewari is a holistic gynecologist in Ann Arbor, MI with over 25 years of experience in women’s health. Although her journey began as a traditional gynecologist, she has now expanded her practice to include alternative approaches that treat the whole person. When she begins with a new patient, she gathers their menstrual charts, blood tests, hormone levels, and nutritional and gut evaluations in order to create a tailored plan. Her unique goal involves understanding the patient and working closely with them to determine the proper course of action.
Given her knowledge, Dr. Tewari brings a special blend of standard medicine and holistic approaches, giving the patient healing power over her body. Her passion for helping women is evident as she spends copious amounts of time getting to the root cause of their issues. She beautifully combines empathy, guidance and wisdom, paving the way for a new type of relationship between a doctor and patient.
